KABUL (Pajhwok): Hizb-i-Musharekat Mili, a political party on Wednesday announced support to presidential runner Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai for the second round of election.

A large number of party members, Ulama, jihadi figures, including Abdul Hakim Mujahid, Maulvi Qalamuddin, Maulvi Khalilullah Firozi and others participated in the meeting held in support of Ahmadzai in the capital Kabul on Wednesday.

Speaking to the gathering, Firozi said they hacked Ahmadzai because of his ability who was a man of principles. “We should vote to a candidate who is the man of qualities,” he added.

Mufti Ahmad Farzan said Ahmadzai’s team comprised intellectual individuals and he had multidimensional programmes for the development of the war-torn country.

A leader was needed to fight corruption, maintain government achievements and work honestly for the development of the country, he said, adding that Ahmadzai was the best option to head the country.

Another participant in the meeting, Qalamuddin said people should carefully use their vote right and cast their vote in favour of Ahmadzai.

He criticized the team of rival candidate Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and said that people should not test the tested leaders. Qalamuddin said Abdullah’s team did not care for poor people.

Dr. Ahmadzai expressed happiness following active support of Ulama. He added that he was not thirsty to win the position but to serve the people.

In response to Abdullah’s team recently abusive speech, Ahmadzai said: “Our team has moral principles. We will carry forward our canvassing peacefully and never insult Abdullah or his team.”

About few days ago, Abdullah’s second-vice president in a campaign called Ahmadzai as a ‘Roda Qaq’ which is an abusive word in morality.

Ahmadzai once again called on Abdullah to face him in television show debate to make their programmes public before the nation.

Hizb-i-Musharekat Mili leader, Najeebullah Kabuli, said his party had decided to back Ahmadzai who had the ability to steer country out of current mess.
