3 ALP members killed in suicide attack

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Three Afghan Local Police (ALP) members were killed and two others wounded in a suicide attack in the Gilan district of southern Ghazni province on Thursday, the governor’s spokesman said.

Shafiq Nang told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast took place at around 3:00 am. A police officer shot dead one of the two suicide bombers when they were forcing their way into a police post. But one of the attackers blew himself up close to the security post, he said.

The injured policemen, he said, were rushed to a local hospital. But Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid claimed that 11 policemen had been killed and the security posts damaged.
