KABUL (Pajhwok): British Prime Minister David Cameron on Thursday hoped the Afghan government would successfully conduct the second round of the presidential election on June 14.
During a telephone conversation, Cameron discussed with President Hamid Karzai the obtaining situation in the region, including the need for a joint war on terror.
A statement from the Presidential Palace quoted Karzai as saying the Afghans would turn out in large numbers, like they did in the first round on April 20, to elect their new leader.
Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai are in the run for the top constitutional office.
