Tajik border police kill Afghan smuggler
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Drug Control Agency's Department for Khatlon region of Tajikistan and border guards of Panj district while foiling to transfer large amount of drugs from Afghanistan, has killed an Afghan drug smuggler, reports said.
An armed clash occurred between the border guards and Afghan traffickers near the Shurkul border checkpoint. As a result, one of the drugs traffickers was killed, another detained and the third managed to flee.
The Tajik border personnel recovered a 12mm hunting carbine and a large plastic bag with more than 13 kilograms of hashish and three kilograms of heroin.
A criminal probe was launched and the case was being investigated.
