KABUL (PAJHWOK): Presidential hopeful Dr. Abdullah Abdullah on Saturday cast his vote along with his team, urging the people to come out and exercise their franchise for a bright tomorrow.
Abdullah’s deputies Eng. Mohammad Khan and Haji Mohammad Mohaqiq cast their votes at the Estiqlal High School in Kabul. The frontrunner asked the Independent Election Commission (IEC) to thwart rigging attempts.
The security forces and government officials should stay neutral to ensure transparency in the democratic exercise, he added.
Failed presidential contender Zalmai Rassoul, who announced his support to Abdullah, accompanied him.
