JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A child was killed and five others were wounded on Friday when a mortar shell landed in their house in the Momand Dara district of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said.
Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News blamed the Taliban for firing the mortar shell into a house in Basu village at about 6am.
A doctor at the Ghanikhel district hospital, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed receiving five people from the site. One of the injured is said to be in critical condition.
