KABUL (Pajhwok): Attorney General Mohammad Ishaq Aloko on Monday announced his office had not yet received any electoral case with a criminal aspect.
Aloko said: “Although we haven’t received anything of this nature so far, it is our authority and responsibility to review cases of fraud, deception and forgery.”
“There is a solution to the problem in the law. If there are doubts about the election commission, the issue is referred to the complaints panel,” he added.
He suggested electoral problems should be resolved through consultations and negotiations. The runoff presidential elections were held on June 14.
But Dr. Abdullah accused the Change and Continuity team, led by Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, of committing in fraud. He says results of the elections are unacceptable to him.
Aloko made the comments at a ceremony, organised by the Qazalbash Coordination Council, which commended his performance. At the end, members of the council handed the AG an appreciation letter.
