Child among 3 killed in Faryab blast
MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Three civilians including a child were killed and six others wounded in a bomb blast in the Dawlatabad district of northwestern Faryab province on Wednesday, an official said.
The roadside bombing took place around 9:30am in the district bazaar, leaving two shopkeepers and a 12 years old boy dead and six others wounded, police chief, Col Mohammad Naeem Andarabi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The wounded were shifted to a local hospital for medical treatment, he said. Some of the injured are said to be in critical condition.
Deputy police chief, Niamatullah, said the bomb had been placed in a handcart parked in front of shops.
A provincial council member, Abdul Ahad Elbik, said most such incidents harmed civilians. He denounced the killing of innocent civilians as an act against Islamic teachings and human values.
Two weeks ago, four civilians including a child were killed and three others wounded in a similar incident in Khairabad area f the district.
