19 dead in collision on Torkham-Jalalabad road

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Ninteen people were killed in a head-on collision between a trailer and a coaster on the Torkham-Jalalabad highway on Friday morning.

Eight others, including a woman, were wounded as a result of the accident in the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Township, the Nangarhar Traffic Department head, Col. Zar Jan. told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Jalalabad Civil Hospital Director Humayun Zaheer confirmed receiving 19 dead bodies and seven wounded individuals from the crash site. One of the injured is said to be in critical condition.
