GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Two persons have been killed and three others wounded when a mortar shell fired by militants landed inside a home in Ander district of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Friday.
Shafiq Nang, the governor’s spokesman, said rebels had fired rockets into the district with one of the shell hit a house in Kharr Kali, leaving a woman and a child dead and three others injured.
The wounded, he said were instantly rushed to Ghazni Civil Hospital. He alleged the rockets were fired by Taliban.
A doctor at the hospital, Noorullah, told Pajhwok Afghan News that three wounded children aged below 12 had been admitted to the hospital.
He said the injured were in stable condition. Militants have not yet commented on the incident.
