FIROZKOH (Pajhwok): Seven policemen were killed in a roadside bombing in western Ghor province on Thursday, an official said.
The incident occurred in Band-i-Khufak area on the Firozkoh-Chaharsadah road around noon, police officer Col. Abdul Hadi Chahal Ghori told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Seven occupants of the police pickup that struck the device were killed in the explosion, the provincial crime branch chief said. The victims were among the reinforcements who were being sent to Chaharsadah district.
The governor’s spokesman, Abdul Hai Khatibi, confirmed the casualties. He accused the Taliban of planting landmines on roads to the district.
