Suicide bomber kills 5 rebels in Paktika

SHARAN (Pajhwok): While embracing his associates, a militant detonated his explosives, killing five militants and injuring seven others in southeastern Paktika province, an official said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred Monday evening in the Pastori locality of Sarobi district, police chief Nabi Jan Mullakhel told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Civilians suffered no harm in the blast, he added.

A tribal elder, wishing not to be named, said that a huge explosion rocked the locality and scared residents. However, he had no knowledge about causalities.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
