FIROZKOH (Pajhwok): A President Hamid Karzai-appointed delegation arrived on Sunday in western Ghor and children, by unknown gunmen last month.

The civilians were shot dead a week earlier after being pulled off a bus in the Padgah locality on the outskirts of Firozkoh, the provincial capital.

Ghor Governor Syed Anwar Rahmati accused Pakistan commander named Qari Rahmatullah.

The governor claimed Rahmatullah, who spent winter in Pakistan and returned to Ghor in summer, was directly involved in the incident.

He complained a small number of security personnel could not deal with the growing Taliban’s activities in the province.

Around 35,000 security forces were struggling to maintain the government’s writ against 65,000 armed rebels in the province, he added.

Rahmati said the probe team had reached the province to hold meetings with local officials and provincial council members about the killing of 15 innocent people.

The Taliban had already distanced themselves from the killings.
