KABUL’s captivity, media reports said on Friday.

Security forces safely recovered Vice Chancellor of Islamia University Prof. Ajmal Khan four years late on Thursday, the military said, adding they had trying since September 2010 when he was kidnapped.

Prof. Ajmal told Dawn said the kidnappers him in a mountainous area of Waziristan Agency near the Afghanistan border. The daily reported Ajmal was mostly kept in Shawal valley.

A close relative of ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan, Prof. Ajmal has been a staunch supporter of the war against militancy. He has been the Gomal University vice-chancellor. 

Following his abduction, Ajmal had appeared in several video messages asking the government to negotiate his release with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
