KABUL.

Syed Moazam Shah was summoned to the ministry on Sunday evening when MoFA Political Director Abdul Samad condemned the Punjabi Taliban’s declaration.

“The recent statement of the Punjabi Taliban is a clear conspiracy against stability in Afghanistan. Such moves are against the norms of good neighbourliness and international law,” he said.

Samad added Afghanistan had long been a victim of attacks from terrorist groups trained and equipped by Pakistan’s intelligence agencies. The militants recently killed and arrested in Afghanistan were Pakistani nationals, he continued.

“MoF condemns the use of terrorist groups as a policy tool as it is not in the interest of any country. Pakistan can cooperate with Afghanistan in combating terrorism…” Samad said.

The MoF said Pakistan’s charge d’affaires promised he would share Afghanistan’s concerns with the relevant officials.
