KABUL (Pajhwok): Prosecutors have reportedly sought tougher punishment for a Pakistani reporter who was detained by Afghan security officials in eastern Nangarhar province in April this year.
Working for the private TV channel ARY News, Faizullah Khan had entered Afghanistan leaders. The authorities later accused him of spying and having links to the Taliban.
On September 16, he was produced before an appeal court, which held brief hearing, a Pakistani newspaper reported on Friday. The Express Tribune said a prosecutor read out a charge sheet.
He prayed the court Faizullah had been convicted on only one charge. A verdict was yet to be given on other allegations against the reporter.
