KABUL-India border rose to 60 in Lahore, two outlawed outfits claimed responsibility for the suicide attack in Wagah.

The dead include 10 women and seven children, while more than 110 people were injured by the bomb that exploded outside a restaurant near a paramilitary checkpoint.

Speaking to journalists, Lahore police chief Amin Wains confirmed it was a suicide attack. “People were returning after watching the daily parade at Wagah border when the blast took place.

The Jamaat-ul-Ahrar splinter group of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack. Its spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan said the attack was carried out by one of their men.

“We will continue such attacks in the future,” Ehsan said in a statement. “Some other groups have claimed responsibility, but their assertions are baseless. We will soon release a video of this attack,” he added.

Another banned, Jundullah, made a similar claim. Its spokesman Ahmed Marwat said the attack was in reaction to the military operation Zarb-i-Azb in the tribal region of Waziristan.
