KABUL (Pajhwok): First Vice-President Abdul Rashid Dostum along with his 300 guards and workers on Thursday joined a blood donation campaign, with all participants donating 159,000 cc blood in capital Kabul, an official said.

Public Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Kanishka Turkistani told Pajhwok Afghan News Dostum had announced that he and all of his workers and guards would donate blood after every three months for needy patients. He said the VP had appealed to the Afghans to join the campaign.

Public Health Ministry official say the number of donators increases day-by-day.

More than 2,000,000CC blood was donated on Ashura Day in different provinces this year.
