KABUL (HPC) chief Salahuddin Rabbani’s resignation as the peace body head, an official said.
Mohammad Ismail Qasimyar, a HPC advisor on international affairs, said Saturday that Rabbani resigned in a move to pave the way for peace talks to advance and restoration of peace.
Lauding Rabbani’s role in advancing the peace process, the president said the incumbent HPC chief should continue to work until the peace process came to a logical end and achieve what his late father had died for.
Former president and HPC chief, Prof. Burhanuddin Rabbani, was killed on September 20, 2011 in a suicide attack.
