Fazlullah narrowly escapes drone strike
JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Mullah Fazlullah narrowly escaped a US drone strike in the Nazyan district of eastern Nangarhar province near the Durand Line a day earlier.
A Pakistani newspaper The Express Tribune quoted an unnamed official in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) as confirming that Fazlullah was present in the area when the drone strike took place.
He said five TTP fighters were killed in the strike near the zero-line between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The official said they were trying to collect further details of the strike and prepare a report with the help of Afghan security officials.
Nangarhar police spokesman Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal told Pajhwok Afghan News two Fazlullah’s fighters were killed in the strike.
The Afghan Taliban said the strike caused casualties to civilians.
