The conference is being co-hosted by the UK and Afghanistan. President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah will be attending the event.
In Islamabad, Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Tasneem Aslam said Sharif would have bilateral interaction with British Prime Minister David Cameron and Afghan leaders.
On the premier’s participation in the conference, Aslam said it was reflective of the importance that Pakistan attached to international efforts for peace, stability and economic development in Afghanistan.
In Washington, the State Department said Secretary John Kerry would meet Sharif and Ghani in London. Kerry recognised the tremendous sacrifices the Pakistani military had made to improve the security situation in Pakistan.
