KABUL over the longer hail, the chairman of Defence Select Committee of the British parliament promised.

President Ashraf Ghani met MP Rory Stewart and other members of the committee on in London and discussed bilateral relations, regional security, Afghanistan’s security and economic landscape.

A statement from Ghani’s office here said Rory Stewart welcomed the formation of the unity government in Afghanistan. He hailed it as a show of political maturity and commitment of Afghan leaders.

He added over the last 13 years, British MPs had paid more than 100 visits to Afghanistan, a move that amply demonstrated the UK’s commitment toward the country.

President Ghani praised British support for Afghanistan and affirmed his government’s commitment to accountability and transparency in utilisation of foreign aid.
