KABUL resolve to put up a joint front against the scourge of terrorism.
Gen. John F. Campbell attended executive-level security discussions with President Ashraf Ghani and Pakistani Chief of Army Staff Gen. Raheel Sharif in Kabul a day earlier.
The top US general in Afghanistan said he was encouraged by how both leaders had vowed to work together to defeat terrorist threats impacting both sides of the border.
A statement from the alliance quoted Campbell as hoping to see even more of such cooperation as “we assume the Resolute Support mission at the end of this month.”
President Ghani on Wednesday met Gen. Raheel Sharif, who arrived on an announced trip in Kabul. He also held talks with the president on issues of terrorism in the wake of a recent school massacre.
