Ankara would raise the number of Turkish troops from 700 to 1,100, the foreign minister told trainee diplomats in Ankara on Monday.
A Turkish newsd agency quoted Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu as saying: “We will continue training and equipping Afghan security forces.”
The training mission for diplomats would take place in Afghanistan and Turkey, according to the minister, who said his country would spend 50 million euros to run the management of the Kabul International Airport for a two-year term.
On January 13, the Turkish Parliament allowed the government to keep troops in Afghanistan for two more years under the Resolute Support mission.
