KABUL on Wednesday rejected 10 ministers-designate who could not obtain the required 50+1 percent of votes.
The nominees who failed to win trust votes included Gen. Sher Mohammad Karimi, defence minister-designate, who obtained 96 ballots out of 243.
Barna Karimi, communications and information technology, managed to bag for 115 votes and Zalmai Younusi, President Ashraf Ghani’s choice for the education portfolio, won 90 votes.
Khatira Afghan, the higher education minister-designate, was handed only 71 votes, Rahman Oghli, economy minister, 104 and Abbas Basir, public works, 85 .
Faizullah Zaki, the presidential pick for the transport ministry slot, won 81 votes and Qamaruddin Shinwari, borders and tribal affairs nominee, 102.
Also, Sardar Mohammad Rahman Oghli, the proposed minister of economy, received 106 votes.
In addition, the lower house did not repose confidence in Sardar Mohammad Rahimi, minister-designate of commerce and industries.
He is said to be the youngest among the nominees. He secured 111 votes only.
