KABUL Football Federation (AFF) on Sunday announced the newly-appointed German coach had arrived in Kabul and he would officially join the national football team tomorrow.

The federation said in a statement the Bosnia-born Slaven Skeledzic would be introduced at a press conference on Monday, when he would also sign his contract.

Skeledzic, 43, has plenty of experience as football coach. Born in Bosnia, he played professional football for many years in Germany.

He has coached many junior teams in Germany and managed Frankfurt II in 2014 season, and is believed to bring the European football culture to Afghanistan.

For the first time, Afghanistan won the South Asian Football Federation Championship held in Nepal in 2013.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan Olympic Committee chief said Afghan athletes were prepared for the 2016 Brazil Olympics.

He added the committee would continue its hunt for best athletes to take part in the competitions.
