KABUL protection agency said on Tuesday that his department was all set to plant one million trees in the capital Kabul from tomorrow (Wednesday).
Kazem Humayun stressed on people to take part in the tree plantation drive to turn the environment clean and green.
He told Pajhwok Afghan News the campaign would start from the Marshal Fahim Military Academy with the ministry of agriculture and Kabul municipality would also take part in the initiative.
People’s role, Humayun said, was crucial in keeping the environment clean and urged them to be cooperative with the officials in this regard.
It is said that more than 70% of the new housing projects in Kabul are in the areas that were allocated for green zones. This has raised concerns among some environmental agencies in the capital.
