14 killed in cross-border attack in NWA

KABUL’s territory on a Pakistani security checkpoint in the tribal region of North Waziristan, the military said.

Three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel and 11 insurgents were killed in the cross-border assault on the Dandi Kuch check-post in the Spinwam area near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

One militant was arrested in the wake of the predawn clash, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, adding the Pakistani troops repulsed the attack. Security forces recovered the bodies of three terrorists.

Elsewhere in the northwest, at least 20 militants were killed and five hideouts destroyed during air strikes on Tuesday morning in Khyber Agency. The strikes targeted Tor Dara, Tirah, Jatoi and Rajgal areas.
