Jul 19, 2014 - 18:16

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Fifteen militants were killed in an International Security Assistance Force (ISAFinfo-icon) drone strike in central Logar province on Saturday, local officials said.

The afternoon raid was conducted in the Baboos area on the outskirts of Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital, the Logar police chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Brig. Gen. Abdul Hakim Ishaqzai said the pilotless aircraft struck a house where the Talibaninfo-icon were meeting. A militant commander named Mullahinfo-icon Humayun was among the 15 killed, he added.

Civilians suffered no casualties in the attack, according to the police boss. But Haji Hakim, a local elder, said 20 insurgents had been killed in the strike.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
