2 ALP officials killed in Logar suicide attack
PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Two Afghan Local Police (ALP) personnel were killed in a suicide attack in the Baraki Barak district of central Logar province on Monday, the district chief said.
Engr. Muhammad Rahim Amin told Pajhwok Afghan News the two policemen on a motorbike were attacked by a suicide bomber, leaving them dead on the spot.
He said the attack took place in Qadir Kala locality at around 4:30 pm. Din Muhammad Darwesh, the governor’s spokesman, also confirmed the attack.
Khalilullah Kamal, the Charkh district chief, said a group of militants stormed the district headquarters building and the firefight lasted several hours.
One Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier was wounded in the gunbattle, he added. Taliban have not yet commented on the incidents.
