KABUL’s coordinated attack on a guesthouse in the capital Kabul Wednesday night, an official said.
The attack was took place around 9.pm last night when four attackers stormed a foreigners’ guesthouse “Green Village” on Kabul-Jalalabad highway in 9th police district.
Kabul police spokesman Hashmatullah Satnikzai told Pajhwok Afghan News that the first attacker was a suicide bomber who detonated his explosives while three others were exchanging fires with security guards.
All of the three fighters were killed during the clash with security guards, he said, adding two foreign nationals and an Afghan guard were injured in the incident. Stanikzai did not provide details about the nationalities of foreigners.
Interior affairs deputy minister Ayub Salangi tweeted that civilians and security forces suffered no casualties in the attack.
A resident of the area Samiullah said that the gunfire was heard for a half hour after the powerful explosion occurred. Two more blasts also heard during exchange of fires, he added.
A Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujhaid claimed killing several foreign and Afghan security forces in coordinated attack on Green Village guesthouse.
