KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Three government employees, including the deputy head of the provincial, have been detained on charges of embezzlement in southern Khost province, an official said on Thursday.
Prosecutor Mohammad Shoaib Sabit told a news conference two of the men, convicted by the court of appeal, worked in the human resources section of the education department.
The three were involved in illegally selling some technical tools of the Abdullah Khan Tanai Teachers’ Training Centre. Sabit did not put a precise figure on the money stolen. “All the detainees are under investigation.”
Resident Mohammad Zaman told Pajhwok Afghan News the best way to eliminate corruption was to bring the tainted individuals to justice. He hailed the action against the trio.
