3 killed, 8 hurt in suicide attack on police convoy

LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Three Public Order Police were killed and eight others wounded in a suicide car bombing in southern Helmand province on Sunday, an official said.

The incident happened at 2:30pm in the Dorahi area of Lashkargah, the provincial capital, said the governor’s spokesman, who stopped short of blaming anyone for the assault.

Omar Zwak told Pajhwok Afghan News the suicide bomber blew his explosives-laden car near the police convoy. He would not provide further details.

Meanwhile, Public Order Police Col Commander Ghaffar Khan said the convoy came under attack in Dorahi locality on its way to southern Kandahar province.
