3 Marja policemen gunned down by guest

LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Three policemen were killed in an attack by their guest at a checkpoint in the Marja district of southern Helmand province on Tuesday morning.

The attacker was also killed in retaliatory fire from police in Sistani area, a member of the District Social Council told Pajhwok Afghan News on condition of anonymity.

He said the attacker was a guest of the police check-post commander. A delegation has arrived in the district from Lashkargah, the provincial capital, to probe the incident.

Helmand police spokesman Col. Farid Ahmad Obaid confirmed the attack, but had no information about casualties.
