JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Four insurgents have been killed by the roadside bomb they were planting on the Kabul-Jalalabad highway in eastern Laghman province, the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) said on Friday.
At least one militant, Nasir, was wounded in the overnight explosion in the Tor Ghar area of Qarghayee district, a statement from IDLG said. Two of the dead were identified as Abu Bakar and Khalid, residents of the Khogyani district of Nangarhar.
The statement said the rebels were members of a militant group, led by Commander Qahraman. They were allegedly involved in a string of disruptive activities in the area.
