Mehterlam Baba (Pajhwok): Forty eight public welfare projects, costing 58 million afghanis, have been completed in eastern Laghman province, an official said on Saturday.
The governor’s spokesman, Sarhadi Zwak, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Deputy Governor Jamiatullah Hameedi had inaugurated the projects, which would benefit thousands of people.
He said the projects were implemented by the Rural Development Ministry and the National Solidarity Program (NSP) in 37 villages in central Laghman.
Habib Gul, a resident of Mehterlam, the provincial capital, said earlier they had no access to clean drinking water, but now the government had provided them with the facility and residents were happy with that.
