LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Five civilians were killed and four others wounded during two separate incidents of violence in southern Helmand province, an official said on Sunday.
One member of a family was killed and four others were wounded in a roadside bombing in Sarwan locality of Sangin district a day earlier, the governor’s spokesman, Omar Zwak, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said women and children were also among the inured. One of them is said to be in critical condition.
The gubernatorial spokesman added four shopkeepers were gunned down by the Taliban-Helmand highway on outskirts Lashkargah on Saturday evening.
Taliban are yet to comment on the incident.
