JALALABAD/KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Five policemen and a civilian were killed and two non-combatants wounded in different incidents in eastern Laghman and southeastern Khost province, officials said on Tuesday.
Sarhadi Zwak, the Laghman governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News a roadside bomb went off in Alishang district, leaving a woman dead and another man and a woman injured.
In Khost province, four policemen and a civilian died when gunmen attacked a car they were travelling in close to Gulzar Aka area, said Syed Karim Khan Khaksar, provincial council member.
A doctor on duty at Khost Civil Hospital, wishing anonymity, confirmed receiving five dead. Claiming responsibility for the killings, Taliban said they had also snatched police arms and ammunition.
