TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Half a dozen children have been killed in two separate bomb explosions in the Khas Uruzgan district of central Uruzgan province, an official said on Wednesday.
The Khas Uruzgan district chief, Mohammad Ismail, told Pajhwok Afghan News the first explosion that occurred a day earlier left one child dead and the second blast on Wednesday claimed the lives of five children.
He said the second blast occurred in Keshi area in the afternoon. A sixth child was injured in the roadside bombing, he said. The children killed in both the blasts were aged between seven and nine years, the official said.
Also on Wednesday, eight children were among 13 people injured in a blast that ripped through an ice cream van in the provincial capital, Tirinkot.
