KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): At least 800 fresh soldiers of Afghan National Army (ANA) completed rigorous training at the 205th Atal Military Corps training academy in southern Kandahar province on Tuesday.
The newly trained soldiers were awarded certificates at a ceremony attended by Atal Military Corps Deputy Commander Brig. Gen. Sayyed Agha Sapi, Defence Ministry official Maj. Gen. Sardar Mohammad Abul Fazal and other security officials.
Sapi told Pajhwok Afghan News the newly graduate officials would be dispatched to different areas of Kandahar and Zabul provinces aimed at improving law and order situation.
The training of ANA soldiers had been expedited in order to fill the security vacuum after the withdrawal of foreign forces.
Sapi said the ANA soldiers were part of 205th Atal Military Corps who had conducted several clearing operation in southern part of the country.
Maj. Gen. Abul Fazal said that special attention was paid to the equipment of armed forces.
He told the graduates to follow rules and regulations and demonstrate in a professional way. “Being a soldier, you should not only ensure law and order but strive hard to win the hearts and minds of people,” he noted.
