KABUL (Pajhwok): Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah on Monday categorically condemned the Paktika suicide attack that left 61 people dead and over 60 wounded, directing security organs to thoroughly investigate the incident.

Talking to a session of the council of ministers, Abdullah said the brutal attack carried out by terrorists and the enemies of Afghans and Islam “was unpardonable”.

He added they discussed the security situation of the country and the Paktika incident would be thoroughly investigated after interior and defense ministers filed their reports.

A high-level delegation traveled to Paktika and visited victims’ families. The delegation would also financially help victims’ families.

Mohammad Mohaqiq, the second vice-president of Abdullah also condemned the incident as “inhuman act carried out by the enemies of Afghans”.

No groups have so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
