KUNDUZ, ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Security officials have captured an Al Qaeda suspect disguised as a woman in northern Kunduz province, police said on Thursday.

Kunduz police chief Gen. Ghulam Mustafa Mohsini told Pajhwok News the burqa-clad suspect was arrested along with two accomplices at a check-post in the Ali Abad district.

The detainee introduced himself as a resident of northeastern Badakhshan province, though he belonged to Tajikistan and had been fighting against government forces in Gortapa area, Gen. Mohsini said.

He said Uzbek and Chechen fighters fought alongside the Taliban in Badakhshan.

Meanwhile, officials in southwestern Nimroz province said four insurgents were arrested in the Dilaram district on Wednesday night.

Two motorcycles and some weapons were recovered from the detainees involved in roadside bomb attacks on security forces, the district police chief, Col. Amanullah Khashrody, said.

On the other hand, the Taliban claimed that they shot dead a policeman at a checkpoint in Dilaram.
