Australia pledges $300m aid over next 3 years

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Canberra would $300 million for civilian projects in Afghanistaninfo-icon over the next two years, the Australian foreign minister said on Monday.

The announcement came after Julie Bishop met Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah in Kabul.

Australia has provided around $1 billion to Afghanistan since 2001 for security and development sectors. Bishop assured Abdullah of continued support.

Abdullah expressed profound gratitude for civil and military efforts of Australia to stabilise Afghanistan.
