Security forces suffered no casualties during the two-hour firefight, he said, adding two corpses of militants’ scene were handed over to their relatives.

Locals expressed concern over growing insecurity and said that a security post should be established on the border between the district and neighboring Kunduz province to prevent Taliban from sneaking into the area.

Arbab Framoon, a local elder, said Taliban fled from the area to Kunduz’s Chahardara district when they came under pressure from security forces.

Violence prevented people from performing their daily activities especially farmers, he said, adding that Afghan security forces should establish a security check post on the border between Baghlan and Kunduz provinces to check miliants’ moment.
