QALA-I-NAW (Pajhwok): Residents rallied on Friday for resumption of work on three major development projects in western Badghis province.
During a peaceful protest in the provincial capital after Juma prayers, dozens of residents asked the government to initiate work on a ring road immediately.
They also called for electricity supply to the province from Turkmenistan and provision of potable water from Qadis district to Qala-i-Naw.
Provincial council member Maulvi Abdul Basit told Pajhwok Afghan News work on the public welfare schemes had been halted two years ago.
Abdul Zahir, one of the demonstrators, accused the government of paying no attention to reconstruction projects in Badghis.
