KABUL) commander on Wednesday pledged maintaining good ties with Afghan forces and government, the Presidential Palace said.
A day after taking over as commander of the NATO-led force, Gen. John F. Campbell held an introductory meeting with President Hamid Karzai, a statement from the Palace said.
Welcoming Campbell, Karzai expressed the hope for better training of Afghan security forces and greater coordination after the new ISAF commander’s takeover.
Campbell thanked the president and promised to maintain good relations with the Afghan s security forces and government. A former US infantry officer, Campbell replaced Gen. Joseph Dunford on Tuesday.
