Car bombing plot foiled in Paktia
GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Police seized an explosives-laden car in the capital of southeastern Paktia province, preventing a huge terrorist attack, an official said on Monday.
Police chief Brig. Gen. Zalmai Oryakhel told Pajhwok Afghan News the car was confiscated in Gardez city on Sunday evening, but no arrest could made in connection with the explosives.
He said police had launched their investigation into the plot. He said the explosives-packed vehicle was believed to be used in a suicide attack on the Governor’s House.
There has been no word from the Taliban about the seizure that came hours after two suicide attacks in Nangarhar and Logar provinces and a bomb blast in the central capital Kabul killed and wounded several people on Monday.
