KABUL’s latest assaults but expressed his willingness for peace dialogue.

Addressing workers of his party, the Junbish-i-Milli Islami Afghanistan (JMA), the former anti-Soviet resistance leader questioned the armed rebels what they were fighting for.

“If doctor sahib (president-elect Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai) permits, I would engage in direct dialogue with Taliban and tell them what problems war has resolved for us in the past 40 years,” Dostum stated.

He hoped the Ahmadzai administration would steer the country out of its multiple problems. They would meet all campaign promises, he said.

He appreciated people’s enthusiastic participation in the election process, streaming to polling stations, despite serious security threat.

The unity government would do all it could to create jobs, restore security, promote education and bring economic prosperity to the impoverished nation.
