Durand Line security, coordination discussed
KABUL (Pajhwok): A high-level delegation of the Afghan Border Force has held talks on border security with the corps commander of Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Led by Lt. Gen. Shafiq Fazli, the delegation held extensive talks with Lt. Gen. Hidayatu Rahman on border security matters and measures for enhancing the coordination mechanism.
Its members visited the Bala Hesar Fort, the headquarters of the Paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC). They met FC Inspector General Frontier Maj. Gen. Tayyab Azam.
The officials discussed matters of professional and mutual interest. On their arrival at the fort, the team laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-i-Shuhada. They offered fateha for souls of security personnel who lost their lives in the war against terrorism.
Earlier, Corps Commander Rahman had visited Afghanistan on January 18, 2015. The current visit of the Afghan delegation is a sequel to a series of meetings planned on both sides of the border.
