GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A female member of southern Ghazni provincial council received multiple injuries on Friday when militants attacked her in front of her home in Qala Shada, a hamlet in the capital city’s vicinity, the governor’s spokesman said.
Shafiq Nang told Pajhwok Afghan News that bike riders opened indiscriminate fire on Zakya Rahimi in front of her home at around 11: 00 am.
The gunmen opened fire on Rahimi with a pistol, he said, adding that security officials had started investigation to identify the attackers.
Abdul Jamay Jamay, deputy provincial council head, confirmed the incident but said she was in stable condition. Dr. Baz Muhammad, head of Ghazni Civil Hospital, said that Rahimi had been brought to the hospital and she was under treatment.
No one so far claimed credit for the attack.
